Poland, one of the most attractive outsourcing locations in Europe

Jones Lang LaSalle launch new research paper "Onshore, Nearshore, Offshore: Unsure?"

The Onshore, Nearshore, Offshore: Unsure? research report prepared by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, Jones Lang LaSalle and Grafton Recruitment indicates that Poland is one of the most attractive outsourcing locations in Europe.
The report investigates the attractiveness of Poland for BPO and SSCs. It looks into the aspects of education, skills and language capabilities of Poles, infrastructure, availability of government and EU subsidies, the level of wages in BPO and SSCs, and the real estate market, thus the critical elements for a smart location decision.
According to the report, the Polish economy grows faster than the other European Union markets. A GDP forecast of approx. 2% for 2009 puts Poland amongst few countries in the world with a positive GDP growth. 400,000 graduates and 2 million students annually in Poland constitute a significant and highly educated labour pool. Multinational corporations appreciate highly motivated and creative workforce by migrating to Poland increasingly advanced processes. The relocation decisions are also made on the back of the labour cost advantages and availability of investment incentives.
The Polish labor market also remains stable with attrition rates typically not exceeding 15%. The labour pool is highly educated, skilled and multilingual. In addition to a good command of English, German and French are also becoming a norm. Salary expectations in Poland are much lower than in Western Europe.
In addition, the real estate market is well prepared for newcomers from the BPO and SSC sectors. 2009 and 2010 are a good time for corporates making lease commitments. The majority of office buildings in Polish main cities are being developed with A class standards with flexible layouts and large floor plates suitable for BPOs/ SSCs. Headline office rents are from €13 /sqm/ month. It is recommended that larger office space requirements are placed as early as possible to take advantage from options such as pre-let and/ or built-to-suit.
