Leroy Merlin with another warehouse in Poland
The giant enters the Pomeranian Logistics Center
Leroy Merlin, the French home improvement and gardening retailer, has leased 3,400 sq m of warehouse space in the Pomeranian Logistics Center. Experts from JLL represented Leroy Merlin during the processes of selecting the location and preparing a long-term lease strategy.
"For Leroy Merlin, the excellent location of the Pomeranian Logistic Centre was the deciding factor that encouraged the company to select this space. Our client wanted the warehouse to be located near Oliwa in Gdańsk, where the company's store is located. The facility located in the Pomeranian Logistic Center will act as the back-end for the store", comments Mateusz Iłowiecki, Senior Consultant, Industrial, JLL.
"The Pomeranian Logistics Centre (PLC) will ensure swift and efficient transport of merchandise to Leroy Merlin's store in Grunwaldzka Street. Thanks to its advantageous location close to the Gdańsk agglomeration and convenient road links to local highways, PLC may efficiently support the business of retail, FMCG and e-commerce firms" - says Jarosław Czechowicz, Head of Portfolio Management CEE, Goodman.
The Pomeranian Logistics Centre, owned by Goodman, is a complex of warehouse projects in Gdańsk. The centre is a multimodal logistics center, linking Poland with other countries by road, rail and ship. It is located in close proximity to the DCT deep-water terminal, the largest container terminal in Poland that regularly handles freight traffic from and to major international ports including those in Asia. The Pomeranian Logistics Centre complex is just nine km away from the centre of Gdańsk, and 23 km from the Lech Wałęsa international airport. The centre is also within easy reach of the S6 and S7 expressways and the A1 motorway.
This is another example of the fruitful cooperation between JLL and Leroy Merlin. Previously, advisers from JLL supported the French company in leasing 123,600 sq m in Piątek, near Łódź.
